Wall Sconce · Copper-Finish Steel · Spanish Alabaster Dome · G9 · 2 Sizes
A U-shaped copper-finish steel bracket holds a dome of white Spanish alabaster in a defined negative space — the bracket cradles the stone without enclosing it, so the wall behind is visible through the open arch. Spanish alabaster is a fine-grained gypsum stone of high purity: nearly translucent, with a soft internal milkiness that sets it apart from denser marble varieties. When the G9 source activates, the dome transmits light through its own mineral structure, illuminating the stone's natural veining from within rather than reflecting from a surface.
The U-bracket is hand-finished in a warm copper tone — a reddish-brown metallic that reads as warm against the pale stone and complements the alabaster's natural cream-to-white variation. Two sizes — a compact 27 cm and a standard 38 cm — suit different wall heights and spacing requirements. Both sizes share the same 10 cm depth, sitting close to the wall surface.

Bedside tables, narrow hallways, smaller accent walls. Suits standard ceiling heights as a single or paired installation.
Primary bedrooms, feature walls, living room accents, and flanking a wide headboard. More presence on taller walls.
Each stone is unique. Spanish alabaster is a natural material with individual veining, tonal variation, and translucency in every piece. The dome you receive will not be identical to photographs — slight differences in vein patterning and cream-to-white variation are intrinsic to the stone, not a defect.
G9 socket — confirm bulb voltage before purchasing. This fixture uses a G9 bi-pin socket rated for AC 110V mains voltage. Most G9 bulbs sold in hardware stores are 12V low-voltage — using a 12V G9 bulb in this fixture will result in immediate failure. When sourcing bulbs, purchase specifically G9 AC 110V rated LED capsules. Do not use standard G4 or G9 12V halogen or LED capsules.

FAQ
What is Spanish alabaster? +
Spanish alabaster is a fine-grained gypsum stone quarried primarily in Aragon, Spain — one of the most important sources of decorative alabaster in Europe. It is significantly more translucent than most marble varieties: light passes through the stone rather than reflecting from its surface, illuminating the mineral structure from within. The white variety is characterized by a clean, milky translucency with subtle veining — warmer and more organic than frosted glass, softer than polished marble.
Small or Large — which suits my space? +
The Small (H 27 cm) is well-proportioned for bedside use, narrow hallways, and walls under 2.4 m. Installed in pairs flanking a headboard, two Small lamps provide good bedside coverage without overpowering the wall. The Large (H 38 cm) has more presence — better suited to feature walls in living rooms, primary bedrooms with higher ceilings, and installations where the lamp needs to be read from a greater distance. Both share the same 10 cm wall projection, so ceiling clearance is not a differentiating factor between the two.
What bulb should I use — and why does voltage matter? +
This fixture uses a G9 socket at AC 110V mains voltage — not the 12V low-voltage G9 system common in European track and recessed fixtures. When purchasing bulbs, you must specifically look for G9 AC 110V LED capsules — a 12V G9 bulb will fail immediately in this fixture. For the alabaster shade, a 2–4W G9 LED at 2700–3000K warm white works best: warm white enhances the stone's natural cream tone and produces a softer, more flattering glow through the alabaster than cool-white sources.
Can two lamps be paired flanking a headboard? +
Yes — Bernina is designed for symmetrical pairing as well as single installation. For a standard headboard (150–180 cm wide), two Small lamps positioned 50–60 cm from the center on each side provide focused bedside light with appropriate visual balance. For a wider or taller headboard (200 cm+), the Large size creates better proportional weight. Both sizes are hardwired, so plan wiring positions before installation — the backplate location determines the final lamp position precisely.
Product features
Product features
- Hand-finished in natural materials — alabaster, marble, brass, and blown glass — so slight variation in veining, grain, or patina between pieces is normal and expected.
- Hardwired or plug-in per listing; check the individual product page for the exact wiring type and included cord length.
- Compatible with standard dimmer switches unless the listing notes otherwise.
- Bulb base type (e.g. E12, E26) is listed on each product page; bulbs are not included unless stated.

Materials and care
Materials and care
- Alabaster, marble & stone: dust with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water and household cleaners — they can etch or stain natural stone.
- Brass & metal finishes: wipe with a dry microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which will strip the patina.
- Fabric shades: spot clean only with a dry cloth.
- Glass: apply a mild glass cleaner to a soft cloth, not directly to the fixture.
- Always turn off and let the fixture cool before cleaning.
- Keep fixtures away from direct moisture unless the listing specifies it's rated for outdoor or wet locations.
Styling tips
Styling tips
- Wall sconces: mount at 60–66″ from the floor to the center of the fixture; space paired sconces 24–30″ apart.
- Pendants: hang 30–36″ above a table or counter surface, adjusting for ceiling height.
- Chandeliers: as a general sizing guide, allow roughly 2.5–3″ of fixture width for every foot of room width.
- Warmer bulb temperatures (2700K–3000K) bring out the tone in natural materials like alabaster and brass.
- Pairing with a dimmer switch gives you more control over ambiance in living and dining spaces.
