Floor Lamp · Gyroscopic Acrylic Disc · Edge-Lit LED · TRIAC Dimmable · Black or White
The Morrison is built around a single design insight: LED light directed into the edge of a flat translucent acrylic disc travels laterally through the material, causing the entire face of the disc to glow as one uniform, luminous surface. The disc appears solid white when unlit; when lit, it becomes a flat plane of even, diffused light — no visible source, no hotspot, no directionality within the disc itself.
The disc is mounted on a gyroscopic axis within the wrought iron frame, allowing it to be tilted to any angle — flat for ceiling-directed ambient light, angled for wall-wash, or anywhere between. The integrated LED is TRIAC-dimmable as standard, controllable from full output down to a soft residual glow. Two sizes and two finishes — Black or White — share the same mechanism and 80 cm base diameter.
Key Features
Edge-Lit Disc
LED enters through the disc edge — the full face glows as a uniform white plane with no visible source.
Gyroscopic Tilt
Disc pivots freely on its axis — direct light at the ceiling, wall, or any angle in between.
TRIAC Dimmable
Built-in dimming as standard — compatible with TRIAC wall dimmers, no special driver required.
Finish — Choose at Checkout
Black
Matte black wrought iron frame — the glowing white disc reads as a luminous object floating within a dark structural geometry. Suits contemporary and minimalist interiors.
White
White wrought iron frame — the disc and frame read as a continuous tonal composition when unlit, with the luminous disc emerging cleanly when switched on. Suits light, Scandi, and all-white interiors.
Size — Choose at Checkout
Standard living rooms and bedrooms. The 50 cm disc provides generous ambient coverage for spaces up to approximately 20 m².
Open-plan spaces, larger living rooms, and positions where the lamp is the primary light source or a strong visual anchor.
TRIAC dimming — included as standard. The Morrison ships with a TRIAC-compatible integrated LED driver. Connect to any standard TRIAC wall dimmer switch (sold separately — confirm it is rated for LED loads) to dim from full output to a residual soft glow. No additional driver or smart switch is required. The plug-in cord also works with an in-line cord dimmer as an alternative.
Plug-in — no hardwiring required. The 150 cm / 59″ cord connects to a standard wall outlet. Position freely near any outlet.

FAQ
How does edge-lighting work? +
An LED strip is positioned along the rim of the acrylic disc — not on its face. Light enters the disc laterally through the edge and undergoes total internal reflection, bouncing repeatedly through the material until it reaches the disc surface. The surface is treated with micro-etching or diffusion particles that scatter the light outward uniformly. The result is a disc that glows evenly across its entire face from a single edge-mounted source — no hotspot at the LED position, no visible source, just a flat plane of diffused light.
How far can the disc tilt? +
The gyroscopic mounting allows the disc to tilt freely through a wide range — from fully horizontal (disc face directed at the ceiling for broad uplighting) to nearly vertical (disc face directed at a wall for a wall-wash effect). The most common position is a moderate upward tilt that blends ambient ceiling light with indirect side diffusion. The disc can be set to any angle manually and holds position once adjusted.
Small or Large — which suits my space? +
The Small (∅ 50 cm) suits standard-size living rooms and bedrooms as a primary or secondary floor lamp. At 50 cm the disc is visually substantial without dominating the room. The Large (∅ 70 cm) is for spaces where the lamp is the main ambient light source or where it is intended as a strong visual anchor — open-plan areas, large living rooms, and rooms with high ceilings. Both versions are the same height (roughly 163–168 cm) and share the same 80 cm base diameter.
What dimmer switch is compatible? +
Any standard TRIAC LED dimmer switch rated for the lamp's wattage (check the spec sheet for exact wattage). Look for a wall dimmer labeled “LED compatible” or “trailing edge” — avoid older incandescent-only dimmers which will cause flickering. Alternatively, a plug-in in-line cord dimmer (with a rotary or slider control on the cord itself) can be used between the lamp's plug and the wall outlet, requiring no wall switch modification at all.
Product features
Product features
- Hand-finished in natural materials — alabaster, marble, brass, and blown glass — so slight variation in veining, grain, or patina between pieces is normal and expected.
- Hardwired or plug-in per listing; check the individual product page for the exact wiring type and included cord length.
- Compatible with standard dimmer switches unless the listing notes otherwise.
- Bulb base type (e.g. E12, E26) is listed on each product page; bulbs are not included unless stated.
- Select pieces are made to order — see the product page for current lead time before ordering.
Materials and care
Materials and care
- Alabaster, marble & stone: dust with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water and household cleaners — they can etch or stain natural stone.
- Brass & metal finishes: wipe with a dry microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which will strip the patina.
- Fabric shades: spot clean only with a dry cloth.
- Glass: apply a mild glass cleaner to a soft cloth, not directly to the fixture.
- Always turn off and let the fixture cool before cleaning.
- Keep fixtures away from direct moisture unless the listing specifies it's rated for outdoor or wet locations.
Styling tips
Styling tips
- Wall sconces: mount at 60–66″ from the floor to the center of the fixture; space paired sconces 24–30″ apart.
- Pendants: hang 30–36″ above a table or counter surface, adjusting for ceiling height.
- Chandeliers: as a general sizing guide, allow roughly 2.5–3″ of fixture width for every foot of room width.
- Warmer bulb temperatures (2700K–3000K) bring out the tone in natural materials like alabaster and brass.
- Pairing with a dimmer switch gives you more control over ambiance in living and dining spaces.
