Terra Surface Wall Lamp · travertine body · white glass shade
A compact surface-mounted wall lamp built from three materials: a beige travertine stone body, a white glass shade, and metal accessories available in gold or black. The travertine block forms the structural base of the fixture — its warm cream tone, visible pores, and natural veining give the lamp an organic materiality that ceramic or resin substitutes cannot replicate. The white glass shade sits above, diffusing the G9 source into a soft, even glow directed outward and upward from the wall surface.
At 15 cm wide, 13 cm deep, and 13 cm tall, the Terra is a deliberately compact fixture — closer in scale to a large object than to a traditional wall sconce. This makes it well suited to bedside positions, hallways, and any wall where the lamp is intended as a material accent rather than a primary light source. The choice of gold or black metal shifts the fixture between warm and cool, classical and contemporary.
Metal Finish — Choose at Checkout
The travertine body and white glass shade are fixed. Choose your metal accessory finish below.
Gold
Warm gold metal fittings — the gold tone and beige travertine share a warm palette, producing a cohesive, quietly luxurious combination. Suits warm-neutral, Mediterranean, and Japandi interiors.
Black
Matte black metal fittings — the contrast between dark metal and the warm cream travertine is sharper and more graphic. Suits contemporary, minimalist, and neutral-palette interiors.
Dimensions
Each stone is unique — shipment is random. Travertine is a natural sedimentary stone with individual pore patterns, veining, and tonal variation in every piece. Pieces ship at random — specific veining pattern, color tone, or surface character cannot be selected. The overall warm beige character will be consistent; the specific pattern will be distinct to your piece.
G9 socket — confirm bulb voltage before purchasing. This fixture uses a G9 bi-pin socket rated for AC 110V mains voltage. Most G9 bulbs sold in hardware stores are 12V low-voltage — using a 12V G9 bulb in this fixture will result in immediate failure. Purchase specifically G9 AC 110V rated LED capsules only.
Bulbs are not included. We recommend a 2–4W G9 AC 110V LED capsule at 2700–3000K warm white — the warm tone complements both gold and black metal finishes and the beige travertine body.

FAQ
What is travertine and how does it vary? +
Travertine is a sedimentary limestone formed by mineral springs, identifiable by its characteristic porous surface of small holes and channels left by gas during formation. The beige variety has a warm cream-to-sand tone with fine veining and visible pores — no two pieces identical in pore distribution or vein detail. The Terra ships at random from available stock: the warm beige character will be consistent, but the specific surface pattern of your piece cannot be pre-selected. This is intrinsic to natural stone, not a defect.
Gold or Black metal — which suits my interior? +
Gold produces the warmest composition — gold metal and beige travertine share the same warm undertone, creating a cohesive, quietly mineral look. It suits warm-neutral, Mediterranean, Japandi, and earthy interiors where everything remains within a tonal family. Black introduces contrast — the dark metal against the cream stone reads as deliberate and graphic. It suits minimalist, contemporary, and Scandinavian interiors where the material contrast is the design statement.
What bulb should I use — and why does voltage matter? +
This fixture uses a G9 socket rated for AC 110V mains voltage, not the 12V low-voltage G9 system. A 12V G9 bulb inserted here will fail immediately — always purchase G9 AC 110V LED capsules specifically. For the white glass shade and travertine body, a 2–4W G9 AC 110V LED at 2700K warm white is recommended. The compact capsule size fills the glass shade neatly without visible overhang. Bulbs are not included.
Can two be paired symmetrically? +
Yes — the Terra works well in symmetric pairs flanking a headboard, mirror, or artwork. At 15 cm wide and 13 cm deep, the combined wall footprint of two fixtures is modest. For a standard headboard, position the center of each backplate approximately 45–55 cm from the headboard centerline on each side, at a height where the lamp sits at seated eye level (90–110 cm from the floor). Both require hardwired connections — plan wiring positions before installation.
Product features
Product features
- Hand-finished in natural materials — alabaster, marble, brass, and blown glass — so slight variation in veining, grain, or patina between pieces is normal and expected.
- Hardwired or plug-in per listing; check the individual product page for the exact wiring type and included cord length.
- Compatible with standard dimmer switches unless the listing notes otherwise.
- Bulb base type (e.g. E12, E26) is listed on each product page; bulbs are not included unless stated.
- Select pieces are made to order — see the product page for current lead time before ordering.
Materials and care
Materials and care
- Alabaster, marble & stone: dust with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water and household cleaners — they can etch or stain natural stone.
- Brass & metal finishes: wipe with a dry microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which will strip the patina.
- Fabric shades: spot clean only with a dry cloth.
- Glass: apply a mild glass cleaner to a soft cloth, not directly to the fixture.
- Always turn off and let the fixture cool before cleaning.
- Keep fixtures away from direct moisture unless the listing specifies it's rated for outdoor or wet locations.
Styling tips
Styling tips
- Wall sconces: mount at 60–66″ from the floor to the center of the fixture; space paired sconces 24–30″ apart.
- Pendants: hang 30–36″ above a table or counter surface, adjusting for ceiling height.
- Chandeliers: as a general sizing guide, allow roughly 2.5–3″ of fixture width for every foot of room width.
- Warmer bulb temperatures (2700K–3000K) bring out the tone in natural materials like alabaster and brass.
- Pairing with a dimmer switch gives you more control over ambiance in living and dining spaces.
