FAQ
Which shade should I choose? +
Ceramic gives a warm, diffused glow that softens the room — ideal over dining tables or islands where you want ambience. Aluminum is lighter and more directional, making it a better choice for task-focused areas like pantries or prep counters.
How many pendants do I need for my island? +
For islands under 6 ft, a single 2-head pendant works well. For 6–8 ft islands, three single pendants deliver the most balanced visual rhythm and shadow-free task lighting. For islands over 8 ft, consider the longest 2-head version or multiple fixtures in a row.
What's the ideal mounting height? +
Mount the bottom of the shade 30–36" above the island countertop for optimal task lighting without blocking sightlines. The suspension rod is adjustable — three segments (29.5" + 11.8" + 7.9") can be combined or shortened to fine-tune the drop.
What cabinetry hardware pairs best with Brass? +
Don't be afraid to pair Brass fixtures with Black or Nickel cabinetry hardware — this "collected" mix is a hallmark of premium English kitchen design and keeps the space from feeling overly matched.
Can it be installed on a sloped ceiling? +
Yes — the canopy accommodates standard sloped-ceiling installations. Please consult your installer for the correct mounting hardware for steeper angles.
Is it dimmable? +
Yes — dimmability depends on the bulb you choose. Pair dimmable LED bulbs with a compatible TRIAC dimmer switch for smooth, flicker-free control.
Will the brass finish vary between units? +
Yes, slightly. Each brass body is hand-finished, so minor tonal variation is expected — and is part of the material's natural character. The finish will also patina gently over time.
Product features
Product features
- Hand-finished in natural materials — alabaster, marble, brass, and blown glass — so slight variation in veining, grain, or patina between pieces is normal and expected.
- Hardwired or plug-in per listing; check the individual product page for the exact wiring type and included cord length.
- Compatible with standard dimmer switches unless the listing notes otherwise.
- Bulb base type (e.g. E12, E26) is listed on each product page; bulbs are not included unless stated.
- Select pieces are made to order — see the product page for current lead time before ordering.
Materials and care
Materials and care
- Alabaster, marble & stone: dust with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water and household cleaners — they can etch or stain natural stone.
- Brass & metal finishes: wipe with a dry microfiber cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which will strip the patina.
- Fabric shades: spot clean only with a dry cloth.
- Glass: apply a mild glass cleaner to a soft cloth, not directly to the fixture.
- Always turn off and let the fixture cool before cleaning.
- Keep fixtures away from direct moisture unless the listing specifies it's rated for outdoor or wet locations.
Styling tips
Styling tips
- Wall sconces: mount at 60–66″ from the floor to the center of the fixture; space paired sconces 24–30″ apart.
- Pendants: hang 30–36″ above a table or counter surface, adjusting for ceiling height.
- Chandeliers: as a general sizing guide, allow roughly 2.5–3″ of fixture width for every foot of room width.
- Warmer bulb temperatures (2700K–3000K) bring out the tone in natural materials like alabaster and brass.
- Pairing with a dimmer switch gives you more control over ambiance in living and dining spaces.
